Noticed some blue shadows way across a field during a walk today and liked how they looked. I also thought..how lucky I am to just be out walking, free from any harm or care. My prayers go out to the Haitians.

I would agree with your comments. I like the interplay of the blue shadows and the sunlight (there is the illusion of the little tree chasing the larger tree) and the sense of cold that is evoked, for me, by the blue shadows.

Pat, hi:

This is so special, I will keep it for a favorite - if I can just get my mind to work as to how to do it.

Splendid, really splendid.

Very Nicely Done.

This is so gorgeously artistic. Love the simplicity of it and the blue shadow is perfectly placed on the perfectly exposed snow. Your captures with snow are always so perfectly exposed, but then, you get more than your fair share up that way to practice on.

Love this Pat - very delicate with a lovely composition. Would make a nice christmas card. Really like the boarder too - I must practise adding boarders. Nice sentiments too - we all too often take our lives for granted.
Thanks

So simple ...yet so very effective. Extraordinary composition and exposure and very well framed too.
Our thoughts and prayers go to the Haitian survivors in this very sad moment.

Hi Pat,
What they all said!!.... lol. No, that's just being lazy! Lovely simple composition and so effective, the little fir being kept company by the big tree...kind of cute!! Did you use the VR function for this one? Quite a slow shutter speed for 300mm and shivery temperatures Wink A well seen image!!
Regards
Vic.

Simply beautiful and a reminder to enjoy the simple things in life. I, too, noticed the relatively slow shutter speed for that focal length although it didn't seem to effect the outcome. Lovely!

A simple but well captured image Pat, you do seem to get the colour of the snow just right. Very nice,
David

PS the bottle on the table contained water, I actually saw them filling it from the tap.
