I thought these words of Martin Luther King Jr. would be appropriate today. I found them one day on a bridge close to where I live here in Winnipeg. One of those graffiti that I wish would have been left alone but it got scrubbed clean very quickly to be replaced by the usual garbage tagging that passes for art. I noticed a number of times in passing these words that people were posing with the words to have their picture taken.

I used the shadow/highlight function (50,0,0) in CS2 followed up with the gritty effect from Virtual Photographer.

So true - it's like the old Beattles tune "What the world nees now, is love, sweet love..." Maybe someday all the people of the world will learn to love each other and live in peace.

A very appropriate post for today. The textures are well defined, and you have good tonal range and contrasts on this B&W presentation. Well seen and taken.

I like the sentiment and I like the texture of the wall in your picture.

Hi Jan,
Profound words indeed and the sentiments are something we can all relate to in these somewhat dark times. very well spotted by you, a fine image.

A good find Jan and the treatment you used most appropriate. I have noticed here that the few authorised bits of grafitti around town have been obliterated by the taggers,

Hello Jan

No matter what the later people did in the name of art it is good that you captured this image while you could. Well positioned within the shot with good textural detail and neat framing that compliments the image and these wonderful words well.

Thanks for posting
kind regards Helen

Doing this in B/W adds to the meaning. Powerful words and a powerful image.
