I like the sense of flow that is created by the support pilings, the overhead pier and the reflection in the water... though one would have rather been drawn to something more exciting than just the single piling in the distance. The lighting and the color does create a sense of warmth in the image.

I'm left wondering what the subject was in this shot. The single piling at the end doesn't hold my interest nor does the blue sky behind. There isn't much movement in the water under the pier either. The arrangement of the pilings is very regular, and I think a centered view of them might show them off. There's good light and texture in the foreground. I choose that as the subject and would prefer it to be in focus.

I like that you've stood to the left for this shot but the nearest legs on that side appear to curve out of the image and take me with it. By sliding the large version across left I can see a different image. IMO the composition is much stronger if you were to crop out the LH legs up to and including the leg with the pipe/cable attached. Even then I find the focus all wrong for my taste and would prefer sharp focus either nearer the camera or sharp throughout.

works for me but a crop on the left side at the cable IMO would make it a stronger image like the movment in the water betewen pilings

Just my opinion: I rather like the symetrical quality to the composition with the focal point (that square of water and sky) right in the middle. The dof (emphasizing the square) works ok, but maybe I'd prefer something inbetween - that is to say a little more in-focus area, but not necessarily the whole image. Interesting shot!

I really like the geometry of this photo. Good compostion and technique. Great light balance and color.
Thanks,
