This image was taken in 1995 as I passed through Trinidad and tried to capture a moment from a wonderful week that I had spent there in 1983. No, not that Trinidad but rather Trinidad, California with a view looking west off the pier behind the Seascape Restaurant. In PS in channel mixer I used the blue output channel with everything set to 0. Then in Photo Impact I used the oil paint tool (2, 20).

I discovered this town when I happened to buy the Los Angeles Times in Winnipeg many years ago and I was just going through the travel section and there was an interesting spread on the town that made it seem so far off the beaten track that I had just had to go and experience it for myself. Seeing the past through gold colored glasses and forgetting that for the week we were there on holidays, for example, that there was no sun and one person nearly killed themselves falling down a hill.

Golden for sure. The tonal depth of film is still something to behold, what did you use to scan/convert the image?

Jan, Hi:

Splendid for the Theme. A wondefully warm and inviting vista with a very 'Golden Sunset'. Impressively and artistically presented with interesting notes.

Very Nicely Done

Golden light through which to remember golden memories, real or imagined. Perfect for the theme.

The colour is a little strong on my computer, but nonetheless stunning. The dark geological formations contrast well with the sky and water and lead us through the scene, providing a fine composition. A little soft and noisy, but here it gives a pleasant painterly effect.

Good quality for a scanned image Jan. The colours are bright but not overdone and the image well composed,

Hi Jan.

Love the tone of this image and the beautiful color of the now discontinued Kodachrome. You have layered the islands very well in creating good depth in this shot in perfect land/sky division. Pleasing image and very well written note.

Thanks for sharing and best regards,
Jusni

Hello Jan.
Lovely golden tones in this beautiful landscape scene.
Sure a good memory for you. Good pp work to digilize it.
Jan
