Just a simple footpath sign from Sundays walk. I like the contrast against the blue sky - I couldn't believe the intensity of the sky all day it was great!
Thanks to those who leave comments and advice on how to improve my pictures.

Your perspective with the signpost set against the blue sky really serves to make the signpost stand out in the image (there's also a strong textural feel to the signpost). When I saw this image of the signpost pointing the way to the footpath I thought of the stone creation called the inukshuk which means "You are on the right path."

Hello there Paula

A very well seen and captured shot here, good textural detail and as you rightly say the colours are superb.

I think and this is just my personal opinion.. i would have placed the footpath over to the right of the shot though as the right of the shot now feels to me like lost space. Not saying your placement is wrong though Paula just that I would have positioned it differently.

Thank you for posting
kind regards Helen

Another stunner Paula .. Helen is correct IMOP. The sign post needed to go more to the right so as it points into the shot, where you have placed it, it is pointing out of the shot and thus takes the viewers eyes with it.

This is why I love this site! You are so right - it should have been to the right side of the picture so the sign leads your eyes into that direction. But why can't I see that at the time? Thanks guys, a valuable point to remember for next time.

Paula, Hi:

Wonderful addition to your gallery. The helpful advice is valuable to all of us. As you say a great reason to be involved with PC and to read notes - comments and to leave comments for others.

Splendid clarity and textures.

I guess we all agree on the placement of the sign. Apart that, everything else is just fine, Paula.

The exposure, focus and contrast look divine on my monitor. Wish I could have been out on that route the conditions look soo inviting.
