A Poppy protecting itself. Taken just after a heavy rain in Cindy's flower garden in the summer.

I have a very busy 3 weeks coming up - 3 business trips - a 3 day photo workshop over a weekend and helping the neighbor. What a wonderful shot Larry .. I like the way you have broken from convention and photographed the flower from behind .. superb colours and sharp enough to cut yourself on ..

I like your use of the greenery to frame the orange of the poppy with the inclusion of the water droplets working to enhance the sense of texturing to be found on the surface of the flower. I like how the stem of the poppy works to lead the eyes of the viewer from the bottom edge of the picture through to the orange head of the poppy. Striking!

What an lovely shot this is, excellent DOF giving good sharp detail and the colours are spot on, the inclusion of 3 focal points works well here too, thank you for taking the time to post this for the theme as I do know your very busy right now.

Perfect comosition here, Larry. The mixture of textures, shapes and colors, enhanced by your DOF, really makes for quite an interesting and captivating image.
