Good contrast between the foreground rain drenched plant and the muted background helps to make the plant stand out well in the image. I think I would crop down slightly to eliminate the white blob in the upper left hand corner.

Nicely positioned shot here I have to agree with the point mentioned aboutt he brighter area and maybe for me the BG is just a tiny bit grainy. Have you tried the neat image software, its quite handy for reducing the graining.. that is of course if the grain is not to your liking, naturally I only say as I see so I dont mean to say your image is wrong.
