Had a touch of snowfall recently, with most of it hitting the Dallas/Fortworth area to the north..
Socked in the airport, made my Valentines Day gift to my wife a day late Sad
F/7.1, 1/1000th, ISO 800, no flash.
New website up & running after the last one was hacked/attacked. New version is hack proof Smile

Just fabulous - as usual! I have been browsing your website too and think it looks great! A lovely composition with the bird looking stright as you - and the colours are super.

I think I would have cloned over the 2 snow flakes on the bird but otherwise another excellent capture. The 300mm f2:8 + 1.4 TE seems to be a favourite setup from both the Canon and Nikon stables.

I especially like the contrast between the red cardinal and the muted nature of the background... serves to make the bird visually "pop" in the picture. The inclusion of the random snow flakes is a nice finishing touch as is the catchlight in the cardinal's eye.

Well done.the clarity is almost perfect.The cardinal is a very rare bird where I live.We see one or two possible every two years.

The beautiful cardinal is the mascot of our baseball team in St. Louis and a big time favorite of mine. I love your magnificent macro view of him - especially the details and catchlight in his eye. Agree with Vic about cloning out the snowflakes.
