Hello Wilth.
This picture, inmediately remembered me of the huge stairway in Caltagirone, Sicily, but with is much wider and longer.
Good shot with lots of interesting details in it.
Indeed an impressive country it is.
Cheers from Jan

I like the cluttered feel of the image... full of interesting details and people. The narrow opening between the adjoining facades of the buildings works to create a sense of flow that leads the eyes of the viewer upward through the picture. Great photograph but I don't envy you the walk up that stone staircase.

WOW, this capture more than fits the Sunday's Theme for "STEPS". It has an endless DOF - looks like it goes clear through to China!!! Perfect details throughout with dazzling saturation. I LOVE THIS!!!

I swear I was going to post the same street of steps - with the same sheets - but looking down from the city walls of Dubrovnik. You cheated by posting a day early so I'll find another.
You don't realise from outside the city walls just how high and steep the streets are do you?
Good one.
Vic.

Where is the elevator? I love all the signs of daily life in this image..the addition of people going about their affairs, the greenery and flowers...all of this add to the appeal of the image. There is so much to see I just keep going back to take another look.

Hey Vic,
Sorry about that, but when I saw the Theme I immediately though of this, and one other, but picked this one.
It is an amazing City, very interesting to see and enjoyable to visit--even though the visitors are crowding out the locals.
Thanks,
Wilt

Thank you all for the nice comments, it truly is someplace to see, should you ever get the chance.

So there's no doubt, those steps I didn't even try. Some others I did, but these, not so much.

Having just completed a course for people with lung diseases and having climbed 6 flights of stairs to graduate I too will await the elevator thanks Wilt. An excellent image with good control of the light,
David
PS the summer here continues even if we are supposedly in Autumn. Victoria (in fact most of the mainland) have had far more summer rain than Tasmania has had. Over the weekend I drove through the Tasmanian midlands and the grasses there are so dry that they are nearly white. Luckily there have only been a couple of major fires this season.

Fascinating capture with so much to look at! Can't say that I'd like to climb to the top though I am sure the view would be worth it!
