Using the water as a background for the Bunting helps to make the little bird stand out strongly in the image. The clarity of detailing, the light playing off the wings of the bunting, and the catchlight in the eye all work to make the picture come to life for me.

Outstanding, Howard, it doesn't get any better than this. Love the small droplets of water falling from the bird. Perfect!

Such great colours on this bird and a super background for an excellent capture. Did you set up a hide for this?

Fabulous stop action - especially like his open beak with his wings raised in frustration and his eyes bugging out trying to figure it out. OUTSTANDING.

Hi Howard,
Superb capture!! Great timing on the shot or was it a case of let the mk3 rip at 10 frames a second?....well...... that's what i would have done You've obviously done a superb job of providing for the local wildlife, in an arid climate like Texas, your pond must be a veritable wildlife magnet!! I know how much work goes into getting a subject close enough to the lense for good details, so not only is this a superb image, what you have done to achieve it is equally worthy of praise. Excellent work!!
Regards
Vic.

Everything has been said. Yes, Howard, this is OUTSTANDING and you had the most beautiful of birds to photograph. The water droplets, the detail and the expression all serve to the high quality of this image.

Exellent pic. The shadow of the wing on the body adds to the pic. Some may say differently? The water droplets and the rings caused by them, all great stuff. To catch any bird in flight and have a decent pic. at the end of it is takes know how and good fortune. Very well done my friend.....Charlie.
