Hello Larry.
Went back in my mind, to that date.
Cant remenber i've heard about that catastophe, I was in the dessert of Abu Dhabi that time, but with many Americans there too, must be a lack in my mind, sniff.
Your picture makes a good link to it. Can see the eruption came into your mind.
As our son is living near the Etna on Sicily, We have seen many times the eruptions of it too, having 'nice' video scenes of it.
Have a nice sunday.

A creation of such beauty made from such breathtaking destruction. One will always remember Mount Saint Helens from that moment when the mountain literally exploded before our eyes. Thought later in the year I would try to get some images of the remains of the mountain and we could not get closer than a viewpoint on Interstate 5 and on a map that looks miles and miles away from the mountain which shows the extent of the explosion.

Hard to believe it is already 30 years since that eruption. My first thought was the same as Jan's, such a thing of beauty coming as a result of such devastation. Very nicely captured by you.

30 years...ouch, didn't need to be reminded of that. Wink
Nicely taken image, really good control of light and color.
Good photo for the theme.
Thanks,
Wilt

A well lit still life and good for the theme. Maybe a crop from the left?

What an exquisite piece of glass. It's quite beautiful, but at first glance reminded me of a giant grub. :-p Great for the theme Larry, and thanks for the interesting notes.

A very beautiful piece of art work and exquisite lighting!
Is it really so long ago, I remember it as if it were yesterday!

An interesting addition to the theme, with excellent exposure. Really great that something of beauty results from something so horrible!
