This capture is not stitched together - it was taken with my wide angle Tokina 11-16mm lens. I took this capture from a paddle wheeler cruise boat on the Mississippi River boarding at St. Louis, Missouri. The three visible bridges (from closest to the farthest away) are the MacArthur, Eads, and Poplar Street Bridges. For anyone who has not visited St. Louis and seen the river, I think this capture will convince you why they call it "Big Muddy". I'm planning on taking another cruise on the same boat and taking along my Canon 5D Mark II with the really wide angle lens to see how it does.

Great perspective from your viewpoint on the paddle wheeler to capture the trio of bridges separate from each other. I remember being at the headwaters of the Mississippi where one could step across the river and then being in New Orleans and seeing how wide the river had become. Any idea how wide the Mississippi is here in Saint Louis?

It's about a mile and a half wide here in St. Louis, Jan. Can't understand how Huck Finn maneuvered his little wooden raft on it! Smile

that's the first thing I thought when I saw this---wow nice wide angle---the exposure looks to be spot on and the sky fits the image really well-----there is a really great flow to the image----must be a great lens ---and of course, photographer-------lynne

Nice color, texture and clarity. The wide angle view really adds an interesting dynamic to this.
And muddy water, I guess. Smile
Nice photo,
Thanks,
Wilt

Diane, Hi:

Splendid work. Amazing use of PoV to composed a very dramatic image - from the water - of the three bridges and different architecture's.

Well Done and like you I look forward to a similar image with your new camera.

Thanks
Larry

Almost as good as being there! Expert handling of the exposure, and love the 'trilogy' of bridges. Excellent work Diane.

Hi Diane - I love this. The sky almost looks HDR. I have ordered the Sigma 10-20mm super wide angle lens yesterday and I can't wait for it to arrive. let me know if you have any tips for shooting this wide.
Super shot
Paula
