Reminds me of when I was a kid down on the docks here in town. I love the nostalgia passion this conveys. Great comp and a FINE image.

Reminds me of the offices at the place I worked at when I first came to Saint Norbert, Manitoba back in the early 1970s... we worked in a what formerly had been a seminary for the Oblate Fathers and they had left the building furnished when they moved out and so many of the elements in your picture remind me of the furnishings we found in the building when we moved into in.

I think it won't be long before National Geographic comes knocking at your door begging for you to come on board as one of their photography staff. This capture is WONDERFUL!!! The details are all perfectly etched and the exposure puts it right back in time. I love how the view seems to be looking through a slightly dusty lens - PERFECT to provide a feeling of looking back in time. Super dooper superb, Anne!

A feast for the eyes, especially in the large version. I too love that safe and stumbling across Mickey Mouse put a smile on my face. This is wonderful, Anne.

Well done Anne - for all the reasons mentioned above. A great look into the past, and a nice vintage look to the image as well. (Really interesting notes!)

They set up the scene, but you mastered difficult shooting conditions to convey the image and sense of the place. Your flash didn't created any hot spots and allowed the outside to be seen through the window on the left. The light doesn't fall off, as it almost always does in my flash photos. There is some distortion as to be expected with such a wide angle lens, but it isn't distracting. That's the craft. The rest is the art. Nicely done.

Hi Anne,
A cracking image and it certainly is a step back in time. I have always loved interiors like this, full of interesting details for the eye to wander over and the less than perfect but functional state of the contents speaks volumes, no "out with the old and in with the new" here, if it works, why change it!! A good philosophy IMO. Lovely work, well done!!
Regards
Vic.

Certainly more organic and interesting than a modern office. Super detail and excellent exposure to show it.

Captured the mood perfectly Anne. Places like this deserve to be preserved.
Tried it in sepia??
