Captured this pelican along Big Sur on one of the beaches, ---he was a bit wary and kept moving away from me----I needed patience to keep following him and catch him still---lynne

I find the pelican to be a truly photogenic bird... its form (especially when in flight) reminds me of some of the flying dinosaurs.

Awesome capture Lynne. One of my favorite birds, and you've captured it to a tee. Great dof too. Wonderful detail where it's needed. Your patience paid off!

Hi Lynne,
You hit the nail right on the head, patience is the main ingredient of all wildlife photography and your patience has paid dividends here, sharp and very detailed, well exposed, good eye contact, a lovely image!! If i were to make one observation it would be the composition, a little too centred and would work better with more space on the right and less on the left to have the Pelican with more space in front of it. That said, i think it's a wonderful image!! Very well done!!
Regards
Vic.

My thoughts are in line with the Lesser-spotted Vic on this, too centered but very sharp and detailed.
