I like this image. The nature of the wintry setting, the interplay of shadow and light on the snow, the scattering of footprints which help to lead the eyes of the viewer deep into the image, and the quality of the clouds. Just the overexposed feel of the sun works against all these strong qualities of the balance of the picture for me... a lower perspective with the sun being above the tree line perhaps. Nevertheless a striking winter time image.

The overexposed sun doesn't bother me. There is such a nice mood here. I love the subdued and uneven light on the snow.

Hi Antoine
You have done well here to produce the effect of a moonlit picture from a daytime capture and it works very well. I agree that if you could reduce the brightness of the highlight it would improve the image. Maybe clone (at reduced opacity) some of the surrounding cloud over it - in effect so that the "moon" has to shine through the clouds.
Excellent work.

Beautiful.
Composed so that the eye enjoys FG and BG, seeking detail, lingering in areas of shadow and light.

Quite the scene you've constructed, very compelling and very good post work. Excellent composition and you've played the light quite well indeed.
Thanks,
Wilt

Hi Antoine,
Now this one i really do like!! Great atmosphere and your pp work is excellent as always. The burnt out area is a bit of a shame, but given the conditions i think you've done well to keep as much detail in the sky as you have. Do you use ND graduate filters or bracketed exposures? I'd recommend using a .75 soft ND grad for this kind of scene which would help to avoid the blown out area
Nicely done!!
Regards
Vic.

It is the composition and tones that make this image really lovely to look at---the detail is good and I think one can get over that burn out in the sun easily----or like Vic says, just clone some soft sky into it to lessen the effect---lynne

This, to me, is one of those scenes you want to meld with and/or create your own story. It offers a feeling of nostalgia and peace.
