Perhaps I should call it Gondo-lunch since this is a gondola repair yard complete with traditional straw boater hat. Just one of those cameo scenes I couldn't pass up. I's have liked to crop the pipes out but I didn't want to lose that fantastic chimney breast. The yard was on the opposite bank of an 18ft wide canal but just as in most cases in Venice it was probably a mile away by footpath even given the 400 or so small bridges over the smaller canals.

Hi Vic.
You both sure had an excellent photoshoot break in Venice...
I see you also went to the no tourists areas.
To make it perfect, imo, clone out the vertical 'things' at left side.
Cheers from Jan

I like your "back street views" of Venice. Gives the viewer another size to the city... the one where the actual people of Venice live and work. I like the sense of texturing that comes through in the picture but what makes the image for me is the straw boater hat... perfect.

I also like the back street view, and I have to agree with JH about the vertical things, clone them out and it would be just right. IMHO

If I was going to print this large then I would spend half a day carefully cloning out the pipes on a 400% sized image but it's too much hassle for a picture that will probably only be seen on a web page which is why I already mentioned them.

I actually think it adds a measure of authenticity to leave the pipes where they are. Love the straw boaters hat. You're eyes are a National Treasure - they never miss a thing.

Vic, Hi:

I like your Daily Life - back street view of Venice - just as it is. Realist with marvelous colors, textures and so much to see and appreciate.

Very Nicely Done

I like all the different textures & details at this workplace, this is one you can really hang your hat on Wink
Well done!

Filled with marvelous detail with the hat being the icing on the cake. Please don't stop providing your wonderful notes even if it appears some don't read them!

When you look at the large image, it's almost as good as being there. I wouldn't change a thing. Great eye you have.

The diagonal pipes do not worry me in the least and and I think you answered Jan's critique perfectly. It was not a very accessible place to get to anyway, so this was about the best composition you were going to get. nits ... a little to bright .. not over exposed .. just bright.

They always put pipes and powerlines in the worse places for us Vic. I love the paleness of the pastel colours here and the many and varied textures, another beauty,
Dave
