I never take "People" pictures...but my friend needed a picture of himself for an ID, so I took a few for him. I wanted to enter a contest called "Don't Say Cheese" for non smiling portraits. I used ReDynaMix and NIK Color Efex to edit this...( He doesn't really look this old :-) )

Well I think Daniel should be very satisfied for your portraiture of him. There is separation between Daniel and background (except for the dark cap he is wearing) which helps to make him stand out in the portrait. The catchlights in his eyes brings Daniel to life for me.

You did a great job Jill. I like how you filled the frame, and the PP really make him stand out.

Hi there - I don't do people shots either but this is a cracker, perfectly positioned. I would love to see this in B&W.
thanks

My memory may be going but I think I saw this elsewhere before and liked it very much. Still do. Superb work on the post processing.

Perfect and good sharp portrait.
The black backgrounds adds to make him free.

Ah, so you added a few wrinkles did you. He still looks good and no doubt he loves this - as he should.

Great portrait, good exposure and very sharp. I like the simple dark background choice makes him really stand out and focused the attention on the face.
Best wishes

Just seems like you've captured his very personality. A very striking, wonderful portrait.
