The main reason for going to Skye last week, it was the first anniversary of my dad passing away. He loved his beach fires and last year when he died mum and I went and had a fire for him. So we thought what better way to remember him than to have another! Armed with only a lighter we found enough drift wood and old rope for a roaring fire to toast our bread and my dad.

Blimey Jan - you must have the eyes of a hawk - it was about 1mm out - anyway straightened up now thanks!

What a fitting tribute. The story is worth the price of admission even without the fine photograph to accompany it.

Thank you for sharing your heart warming story and tribute to your father. The image is well exposed and composed, however, knowledge of your tribute provided me the opportunity of viewing this image with a totally different mind set.

What a wonderful tribute to your Dad - I'm sure he's looking down from above with a big smile on his face for all the love and respect that is being sent his way. You have a warm and sensitive heart.

Hello Paula.
Thanks for your note full of love to your late father.
You did very well to tribute him that way.
Grealt looking picture with good compo, but why not a straight horizon (especially with water levels its important.
So easy to correct with Picasa (and also now with windows life photogallery.
Best regards, Jan

It is easy to see why he loved his beach fires there and what better way to mark the anniversary of his passing than to have another.
Nice picture too.

Good POV and comp, this is a great way to remember your Dad. I lost mine 10 years ago suddenly. He was a great man.
Keep that fire burning..
