My favourite view? It doesn't look like anything very striking and in reality it is just to the north of a parking lot for a restaurant in Trinidad, California but for years this picture used to hang over my desk at work and either when the weather outside would turn to a Manitoba winter with cold and snow and wind or when I felt rather down after a day of work I would look at this picture and it would bring me back to a time of being in Trinidad, California walking the beaches or taking a hike through the woods surrounding the town or having a quiet dinner in a restaurant on the pier.

I went back some time in the 1990s to get an updated version of the picture and the boat was gone and the plants were gone and I never took an updated picture. The original picture was taken around 1980.

In CS2 I used the shadow/highlight function (50,5,20) followed up by levels (white auto).

This image was taken just to the east of the picture Golden Day in Trinidad in my gallery.

Very good sunday, Jan.
Good old memorie picture, Very well composed. Time goes too fast, right ?
Always nice to see your own fave spots and pictured.
Here in my upstars 'home office', I'm surrounded by many pictures (mostly framed 40*30 cm)taken at the many places abroad, where I was working.
Cheers, Jan

A very pleasant scenic view Jan but I'm surprised you haven't recovered the colour lost through time on this. Using colour balance you can restore the full range and if in addition you select the colour range of the sky and apply NR followed by a gentle global sharpening, the result rivals that of a modern digital camera.

A good reason to take the shot when you first see it! They say things are never the same when you return some place. I can see why this scene gives you comfort. It is very serene! As suggested a rejuvenation of colour would give this well deserving photo a nice boost.
