Hard to believe this is a deer... the gull in the background seems nearly as large as the deer itself.
I tried a vertical format of this image just to exclude some of the emptiness on the right and the left and I found, for myself, that the little deer was given more presence in the resulting cropped image.

I love the exposure on this - it's absolutely perfect! Almost looks like a sepia capture ...but not quite - there is unmistakable true color on the deer. Good eye to include the gull in the supporting role in the background.

Hey Mark - where've you been?? Good to see you posting again. My brother has these small deer on his estate where he works but I've never seen one. Well seen and captured.

My sister in south Cambridgeshire has these secretive deer and Muntjac visit her garden - descendants of escapees from the stately homes in the county.
You did well to capture this tiny deer without causing it to scarper.
