I think I would have cropped this image to give more presence to the green heron and its catch... to my eye there is a lot of debris and water surrounding the bird which serves more to distract the viewer from the green heron than enhances the positioning of the bird in the picture.

The shadow/highlights worked well for you. While I agree with Jan about the crop we don't know if you've already cropped this and I do like the placement of the bird.

Hi Janper44, You are right for the debris but I did not care to much because these birds are nervous around here and they don't like human presence . I was happy just to get so close and have a shot .

I love your saturation of this green heron and your timing was perfect to catch him with a mouthfull. I would not crop at all as I like the way you've composed this to include the reflection of the heron in the water. You did a super job post processing to deal with the bright sun.
