I've never seen a Civil War re-enactment and I always thought it was simply the soldiers of each side involved but your picture serves to put a more human side on the re-enactment and that there were probably families at the rear of the troops. What a contrast between the look of the soldier here and the much more sterner look in your previous portraiture of him.
