An image taken last week on one of many days in July where I have been fortunate enough to experience a few hours of fog, my favourite medium. The St Leonards picnic ground is situated on the banks of the North Esk River approximately 5km south of the city centre and is a popular spot in the summer months. The river on this day was about 3 metres above normal level and receding after breaking its banks a few days before.

Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known ~ Winnie the Pooh

David, Hi:

The best of both worlds for me. First- excellent for the theme with marvelous PoV - colors and clarity. Second, it includes, fog to make it a signature image of yours for me.

Very Nicely Done.

Even the thumbnail of this looks good. There is something about the delicate tracery of leafless branches (willow?) that I love and here it is enhanced by the mist and the equally delicate blue of the sky.
Photographically, I quickly tire of summer and almost as soon as Spring has passed I'm looking forward to Autumn and Winter so I've enjoyed seeing this sunny winter's day picture.

hiya David

I hope your doing OK my friend and what a lovely shot this is. I adore these old willow trees (I too am guessing thats what it is) Your POV here is spot on giving the old girl a commanding position within the shot that she deserves but then we can pek behind and see the river and the bridge too. Lovely detail with the hint of fog and I also really like the lighting in this one.

I posted a shot for you today too Smile

Thanks for posting and for joining in the theme

kind regards Helen
