On most weekends here people have garage sales where they sell unwanted goods from within or close by their garage. The locations of these sales are quite often denoted by balloons strung on fences or tacked to light poles. After driving around the neighbourhood I was unable to find any such sale locations and none of the florists which were open had the usual balloons in their pavement displays.

From back in February another type of balloon this one descending after an early morning flight from 30km outside Launceston. On the last Wednesday in February the local horse racing club stages the Launceston Cup and this balloon is a regular visitor to the event and the week preceding.

One has always thought about the hot air balloon in a regular circular manner but today one sees them in so many unusual shapes as with yours that looks like a cold glass of beer floating over the landscape (a dreamlike feel has one thinks about a cold drink on a hot day).

I'd not heard about the use of balloons to show the location of garage sales but I think that is something that could be used locally as we have so many garage sales in Winnipeg (a real mecca of things on sale).

Hi David,
I like, at least it looks like it to me, the jogger looking up at it while he runs his laps.
Adds a nice touch and viewpoint to the photo.
Thanks,
Wilt

David, Hi:

Marvelous for the Sunday Theme. I like the composition and your notes about your original plan. Nice Work.

My plans for this ....Ballon.... theme are located 120 miles away and I will not be there until August 9th. Hoping for good weather when I arrive.

Have a great week, David.

By default - yours being the only entry - I declare you winner of the Sunday balloon theme. Smile
I suppose being an Aussie it had to be a beer shaped balloon!
Without the runner - just a snap of a distant balloon. With the runner - it becomes a picture worth viewing.
