A vintage feel created by the toning and the nature of the setting... quite taken by the reflective quality of the water in the canal also.
We've had a couple of series here in Canada on the History Channel showing the development of industry through the centuries in England... when one looks at some of the practices in the past in the creation of various products it is a wonder that anyone survived to pass away naturally. I cannot remember the name of the particular series but the narrator would work through the practices by involving himself in the actual work... interesting and I hope it returns again.

Mountsorrel you southern softie ...the place where all the granite was taken from to make roads. It has been quarried from here for over 200 years and in the village there used to be 30 pubs but now, with mechanisation less man power is required so the pubs closed .. there are about 3 now. The canals moved the granite till the railways arrived , there is a spur line from the quarry to the main line that is being restored as we speak.The pictures not bad either
