I just find this image a metaphor for the choices that one makes in life. One path leads to the right and perhaps success while the going down the path to the left leads one down the road of self-destruction. I was just sitting and looking at this image with the music of Alison Krauss and Union Station playing in the background when I heard the words of their song Two Highways.

Two highways lay before me,which one will I choose
Down one lane I’d find happiness and down the other I would lose...

In PS used brush strokes (dark strokes balance 5, black 3, white 2), cropped the image and created border and frame.

I'm not sure why you used the brush strokes but I can see the metaphor fits.

I don't care for false dichotomies myself, finding life more complex than the either/or choices we most often seem to want reduce issues to. That said, I do like the image, though my personal taste would be for a non-paintbrush version.

"Two paths divulged in a yellow wood and not knowing which to take, I took the one less trodden and knowing how ways lead to ways knew I would never look back"----or something like that----so many journeys and this one interprets well in the painterly style-----thank you for sharing Jan----Lynne

Hi Jan,
I like the image and the applicability to the metaphor, not so sure about the brush strokes though, seems that the unaltered image would have worked as well and been even more impressive.
Thanks,
Wilt

You are so right, our lives are all about choices but who knows what lies in what direction. I like the addition of the brush strokes adds a sense of mystery of sorts to the shot for some reason. Maybe because it makes the photo, like the choices, not quite so clear.
