This image would have worked for me even without the boat. I find the contrast between the lightness of the cloudy sky and the darkened water and foliage, the reflective quality of the water picking up the clouds in the sky and and the sense of peacefulness that is evoked by the near mirror-like quality of the water on the right works to draw me into the image.
