I like the quality of the angled lighting in your early morning image (especially the interplay of sunlight and shadow and the manner in which the available light highlights the distant mist), the layering of light and shadow that seems to step the eyes of the viewer up through the image, and just the nature of setting (evokes a peaceful feel in me as I view the picture).

Is that frost I see before me?
I never think of Australia as ever getting cold enough for frost.
A lovely atmosphere engendered by the low sun through the rising mist and very well handled exposure.

Thanks for the comments. Vic, it is frost, this place is at the top of Mt Buffalo and is currently covered with snow.

I too can't get my head around frost in Australia, strange how we all have these built in ideas about other countries. Now this could be England on a January morning Ray. A very atmospheric shot with the frost and the mist coming off the water .. well seen

Excellent image, so evocative of an early morning. Great control of exposure given the tough lighting conditions, and very nicely composed.
Thanks,
Wilt
