I think the pebbles of the little island make this shot as they give f/ground interest and fill an empty space, to me they make an ordinary shot into a very interesting one, tack sharp with natural colours .. nice one Ray

I see a different crop to this but it is probably a matter of personal preference because I cannot honestly say there is anything wrong with the composition you present here. I very much like the natural colours but to my eye it is slightly over sharp.
Excellent picture though.

I find a more vertical format works with this image also helping to complement the vertical lines of the tree on the far shoreline. Nevertheless a pleasing image and I agree with Mick that the foreground rocky island serves to fill what could have been the emptiness of the river backdropped by the far shoreline.
