The yellows and greens, the sense of texturing from your perspective (including the head, the leaves and the stem) and the paintlike quality of the image all work to together to create a striking image of the sunflower.
I found a patch of sunflowers that I've been photographing over the last few weeks showing the sunflower from the bud stage right through to the dried up husk of the dead sunflower.

I love how you filled the frame, edge to edge, with this beautiful sunflower. The saturation is magnificent - as is the perfectly executed details.
