A Knight pays homage to his Liege before battle.
I think he expected to blind his opponent with colour.
I believe he was a Serbian Knight.
Taken yesterday at the Military Odyssey at the Kent County showground. Reenactments of all battles with people we didn't get on with over the years from Saxon to Desert Storm including displays by allies and axis forces alike. Too big, too many enactments by too many groups watched by too many people at too great a distance. In other words it was quantity rather than quality. Apart from The English Heritage weekend the smaller displays will get you more and better pictures of reenactments and the participants.

I guess I always thought with the armor of the knights of old was that they were so highly polished that they would blind any opponent but if these vivid colors are an example of what the normal knight wore then the blinding of the opponent with color worked equally well.

I would imagine that once the formal nature of the knight paying homage to his lord that a lot of these colorful garments would be removed to allow for battle.

Clear, sharp image full of detailing with the contrast between that of the knight and the muted background helping to give a 3D feel to the composition.

Hmmm seems like it wasn't what you expected then .. large crowds / too far away / to much to see / GRUMPY OLD MAN syndrome I fear Smile Smile

Well exposed ... I am wondering what the long thin piece of string is for ..?

nice colours in the uniform and lots of detail I like the fish scale like plate on the back of his gloves and the beard showing through the chain mail on his helmet Mick is the string to keep him from losing his gloves when he takes them off you know like we did with our kids when they were tiny!
Best regards
