I guess I always thought with the armor of the knights of old was that they were so highly polished that they would blind any opponent but if these vivid colors are an example of what the normal knight wore then the blinding of the opponent with color worked equally well.
I would imagine that once the formal nature of the knight paying homage to his lord that a lot of these colorful garments would be removed to allow for battle.
Clear, sharp image full of detailing with the contrast between that of the knight and the muted background helping to give a 3D feel to the composition.

Hmmm seems like it wasn't what you expected then .. large crowds / too far away / to much to see / GRUMPY OLD MAN syndrome I fear

nice colours in the uniform and lots of detail I like the fish scale like plate on the back of his gloves and the beard showing through the chain mail on his helmet Mick is the string to keep him from losing his gloves when he takes them off you know like we did with our kids when they were tiny!

Why does this series remind me of Monty Python and all that???? this guy even looks a bit like who??? John Cleese????----it looks like it was fun----love your comment on my image about hanging off the bridge deck----hmmhh!!! next time I'll take a safety net and do that for you----not---tee!hee!:wink
