Now this is good .. very good .. I love the detail and the colour of the lush grasses and the diagonal sweep from top left to bottom right that makes for a very good composition, exposure is spot on with detail in the sky .. very nice work indeed

The soft light highlights the wonderful colors and textures. Yes, there have been others, but this is very very good and a unique place I never tire of seeing images from.

Thank you both for your great comments. UK is a little damp and overcast this year and the greens are consequently plentiful and beautiful.

I like the interplay of light and shadowing on the slopes, the rugged nature of the landscape (reminds one very strongly of many of the landscapes that one finds in the southwest of the USA except these have a green coat) and the perspective you adopted allowing for the rocky outcroppings to lead the eyes of the viewer deep into the image.

It is one of those places that gathers photographers like flies on rotting meat but that doesn't stop us all wanting to put our own stamp on the scene. One guy spent a fortnight camped out waiting for the right light and was packing up when it appeared - he got a stunning shot though.
Anyway, as my namesake says above - it keeps us going until we can get there and refreshes the memory of those who hope to return when they see picture of it.

Ha ha - I take it you've seen this photo in my gallery then either that or you know I'm here at the moment. Well I can tell you I drove past here about three hours ago!! I love this place - it's on my "favouite view ever" list. Last time I was here visiting mum I made her get up at 5am three mornings on the trot to try and get that certain light that photographers want - I didn't get it BTW. I thought that was dedication - never mind camping there for two weeks!
Anyway Bigfoot you have done my "favouite view" proud - I never tire of looking at shots from here so thanks for sharing.

I love the lushness of this image ----you have composed it well and the colours just pop----such beautiful scenes deserve being showed off to their best advantage and you have done that----Lynne
