nature's framing

I had posted this image previously. Didn't really like my treatment of it and so I took it down and I tried something different this time around.

Sunset at West Thumb, Yellowstone Lake taken in the fall of 1988 as I drove through the park on my way to Jackson, Wyoming. The nature's framing was probably not intentional at the time but it worked for me.

In 1988 there were a series of wildfires in Yellowstone National Park which impacted 793,880 acres (or 36% of the parkland). I arrived at the park in October and while fires were still being fought the highways were open and I took this picture as the sun was going down.

The trees do indeed frame the view and the evening sky (?) looks like a gentle evening. Nice one Jan!
