I wanted to get a shot today from along the Ice Trail of the skaters but after two days of walking around Winnipeg with wind chills approaching -40C another day of cold wind chills just was too much for me. I don't mind the cold when I'm layered up but I just find taking photos difficult to enjoy at these cold temperatures so I went with an older take.

I would have to say that on the date of this picture being taken on March 6th we were probably close to the end of the season of skating. A few more days and all would be water choked with slabs of rapidly melting ice.

I like the way their shadows seemed to be chasing the trio of skaters across the surface of the ice trail. I was standing on a bridge watching the people skating and the workers taking in the warming huts when I saw this trio and thought this was worthy of a shot or two.

Love the long shadows Jan. We have a windy day here and a high expected of 23 and still I won't go out, my frail lungs protest.
